I Received Two 2022 Plutus Awards Nominations!

I’ve been following The Plutus Awards for many years. And it is always incredible to see my colleagues in the personal finance space get recognized for their hard work and positive impact on the community. I’ve been writing online for almost 10 years, and I’m excited to announce that I was picked for two Plutus Awards nominations this year.

What are The Plutus Awards?

The Plutus Awards were founded by my friend Harland Landes to celebrate excellence in financial media. It is run by a non-profit organization whose mission is “to enable and support content creators to empower humans with financial competence and confidence.” Volunteers from across the spectrum of the personal finance community donate their time to run the organization and provide grants to creators who are making a difference.

Every year, personal finance fans submit nominations for their favorites from a variety of content creation categories. The best of these nominees are chosen as finalists, and the winners are announced at an awards show. Typically, The Plutus Awards coincide with FinCon, one of the communities that inspired me to leave the corporate world and start freelancing full-time.

The Plutus Awards categories

The 13th annual Plutus Awards are presented by Capital Group. This year, there are 28 categories plus the People’s Choice award. Voting for the People’s Choice award is still open. And the winners will be announced on September 9th.

Best Freelancer or Contributor in the Personal Finance Media

I’ve been freelancing since mid-2018, and it’s still quite surreal that I can make a living writing online while also being there for my family. Many of the people that I’m “competing” against were the ones I turned to when I was contemplating making the switch from the corporate world to freelancing full-time.
